Bio

Rebecca Qiuluan Feng began studying piano at the age of six with Ms. Hongyun Bo in Tianjin, China, and earned the Tianjin Piano Conservatory Level 6 exam certificate at age ten. As a teenager, she focused on her school studies and set piano aside. Ten years later, after immigrating to Canada, she rediscovered her passion for piano and classical music and resumed her studies. She was accepted into Concordia University’s Bachelor of Fine Arts program, majoring in Piano Performance under Professor Gregory Chaverdian.

In addition to classical repertoire, Rebecca has developed an extensive gospel music repertoire, especially for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Over the past 18 years, she has performed as a soloist and chamber musician at venues including Oscar Peterson Hall, L’Oasis Musicale at Christ Church Cathedral, Place Kensington Concert Hall, Le Cavalier Residence Hall, and for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She has also served as a piano accompanist for student jury exams at Concordia University, as well as for RCM exams and competitions.

After completing her Bachelor’s degree with high distinction, she continued her piano studies with Dr. Elias-Axel Pettersson, Dr. Benjamin Bertin, and Professor Paul Stewart, and took conducting lessons with Chad Heltzel.

As an educator, Rebecca currently teaches piano at the Conservatoire de musique de Montréal as an external teacher and holds the High Performance Teacher’s Certificate from the Music Academy of Montreal. Over the past 18 years, some of her students have achieved outstanding results, including 90% in RCM Level 8 exams, 88% in the CMC competition, 94% in the OMNI competition, 98% in the IYMC competition, and gold medals in the CMQ competition, performing repertoire equivalent to RCM Levels 9–10 or higher.
