A friend of the QMTA is not a music teacher, but a person who has a deep interest in music and a sincere desire to further the aims and ideals of the Association. Our friend members include piano tuners, music store owners, composers, musicians, accountants, foundation presidents, retired or inactive music teachers, etc.
Friend members cannot be recognized as music teachers. Therefore, while they are entitled to some membership privileges and may attend QMTA activities, they may not present students. Friend members are not covered by insurance.
