CANADA MUSIC WEEK
November 19-25, 2023
Canada Music Week was established in 1960 to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Canadian Federation of Music Teachers’ Associations. The event was so successful that the following year, the CFMTA Executive decided to turn it into an annual celebration of Canadian music.
The objectives of CMW include creating public awareness of Canadian music, supporting Canadian composers and artists, familiarizing young Canadians with contemporary music, and encouraging music teachers to expand their knowledge of Canadian repertoire.
