Music Educator & Flutist
Laura Bouix has over 20 years of experience as a performer and music teacher. She holds a Bachelor of Music and a Bachelor of Education from McGill University and a Masters of Education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. She spent her younger years teaching flute to private students. She spent over a decade as a band director for the Boston Public Schools, honing the skills in over a thousand young musicians. She established expertise in assessing the needs of students, designing innovative pedagogies, and engaging adolescents in a variety of exciting, beautiful, and meaningful repertoire. In 2010, Laura co-founded the Brookline Symphony Orchestra with a group of friends and remains a flutist and board member. In 2022, she relocated to Montreal, QC.
When she isn’t chasing after her two sons, Laura enjoys dancing the Argentine tango and bicycling.
